Coaches![]() Brent Figg brings a wealth of rowing experience and knowledge to the UC Rowing team. At UC, Figg is currently the Director of Rowing for the Men's team. Currently under Figg's tutelage, five Bearcats have entered into the training protocol for three separate rowing federations, US Rowing, Lebanese Rowing Federation and the Austrian Rowing Federation. Prior to becoming the Director of Rowing for the Cincinnati Men's Program, Figg served as assistant coach to Tim Royalty in the University of Cinnati Heavyweight Women's program from 2003-2005. In 2004-2005, Figg coached the varsity fours, which posted an 8-2 dual record, recording wins over Dartmouth, Navy, North Carolina and others. At the Lexus Central NCAA Regional, the varsity four recorded the best finish for a women's crew at the NCAA regional. From 2001-2003, Figg served as the Director of Rowing at William and Mary. Figg was the men's coach all three years in addition to acting as women's coach for the final season. During his tenure, Figg led the women's light 8+ to an ECAC Championship and appearance at the Eastern Sprints Regatta where they finished 4th. The US Rowing National Collegiate Poll ranked his womens lightweight crew no lower than 13th during 2003. The men qualified twice for the IRA Men's National Championships, finishing 13th and 14th in the Nation. |
