“One Team”

December 6, 2020

As we wrap up this week's Save the Team fundraiser we're nothing less than blown away by the tremendous support of our Alumni and Friends. Going into this week, our savings account had been depleted to little more than $600. Severe funding cuts from the University and only a month-long fall season due to COVID meant that we didn't even have the means to pay our coaches. Much less think about the long term future of this team.

You've changed that.

Because of your incredible generosity we've been able to not only raise over $7,000 for the team but also begin the start of something new. Something that has been pushed forward through the hard work of recent Alumni Tristan Hite and Alex Stringfellow. You may have noticed we did not do this fundraiser the way we've usually done it. This was the first time in UC Rowing history that you may have seen a new logo alongside the one you used to wear as you crossed the finish line of the National Championship.

University of Cincinnati Rowing Alumni and Friends (UCRAF) was founded all the way back in 2015 by Rolf Linder. From its inception, it was meant to be a liaison between the current team and its Alumni. That being said, through the years we haven't built it up to be the organization that it could be. We're starting a new chapter in UC Rowing history. One that we want you to be a part of.

For those of you who want to be involved more directly in the future of the Team, we will be creating a UCRAF Advisory Board. If you are interested in learning more or getting involved, please reach out to Nathan Martell at nmartell8@gmail.com or Tristan Hite at novicemencoach@cincyrowing.org.

Again thank you all so much for your tremendous support over this past week!
