Rent-a-Rowers
Rent-a-Rowers (RARs) are events where alumni, friends, and organizations “rent” our rowers for up to 5 hours to help with yard or house work. If there is something you’re interested in renting a rower for, don’t hesitate to ask! Some possible jobs are listed below:
- Yard work – raking, planting, mowing, mulching, cleaning gutters
- House work – moving furniture, assembling items, organizing
- Other – painting, tutoring
By scheduling an RAR, you are able to get helpers with your project as well as help our rowers pay dues for the semester. UCRC is a student run club, so dues pay for a large portion of our operating costs including our facilities, equipment, regatta fees, coaching, travel, and apparel. Therefore, RAR donations make a large impact on the team!
How to Schedule
To schedule a rent a rower, please reach out to our fundraising chair,
Taegan Phelps. Email her the type of work, a range of dates for when you would like the work completed, your address, and the number of rowers needed. Taegan will then reach out to the rowers to find the best available time!
An RAR costs a baseline of $75 per rower for up to 5 hours of work. After 5 hours of work, we prorate $15/hour for each rower if both the rower and host agree that they have time that day.
